Fredonia Township is proudly served by twenty paid on call professional fire fighters.  With an extensive amount of training and experience, these men and women help protect the lives and property of Fredonia and a third of neighboring Eckford Township.
A wide variety of people make up this department; personnel with a diverse background is the key, to what has made this department successful.  Diversity has allowed the department to adapt to any given incident and allows for better service to the community.
Our fire fighters respond to a wide range of calls including fires, medicals, vehicle accidents and hazards including hazardous materials incidents and electrical hazards.
Our personnel are required to complete a rigorous training program through the State of Michigan; as well as, the National Registry Medical First Responder program.  Our officers are also required to complete the Fire Officer program through the State of Michigan.

Fire Department,
"I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman.  The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one;
but we who know the work which the fireman has to do
believe that his is a noble calling."
- Chief Edward F. Croker, FDNY (Ret.)
